My work always begins with an image that already serves as a defned function in the world. I work with images that originate in visual systems designed to organize public spaces and reshape the ways they act within it, while simultaneously reshuffling the viewer's cards. By isolating these images from the systems to which they originally belong, by means of re-contextualization and abstraction, I seek to re-examine their form, function, and the structures of significance they embed.
I approach visual language as a system of relationships, rules, and conventions. Through acts of isolation, omission, repetition, and the alteration of signs, I explore how a minimal intervention can transform the way an entire system is read.
Rather than inventing a new visual language, my work reconsiders languages that are already embedded in everyday life. By making subtle interventions in familiar systems, I aim to reveal the assumptions, rules, and mechanisms of meaning that shape the ways we perceive, interpret, and navigate the world.

Aluminum, laser cut, spray paint

This work is based on folding a printed replica of the elongated road sign no. 908, which signals a narrow passage or obstacle due to roadworks. Through folds designated by fixed numerical multiples and shifting positions, the familiar repetitive pattern of orange and black diamonds is disrupted, generating new forms. The erasure of the orange elements and their transformation into gaps, dismantle the balanced formal system and articulates alternative spatial configurations.
